Despite my side comment in the previous post, this isn't the end of thread. My childhood next door neighbor passed away this morning after many hospital visits, pain and surgeries. He was 58. I wasn't very close to him but our families had so many connections. Our moms were very close. When I eventually left Long Island for NYC 25 years ago, I eventually ended up living in the same building as his sister. It helped me get in that building since she was on the board. Later, one of my best friends got involved with my girlfriend's sister who lived in the same building as the guy who died. He was an entertainment lawyer, smart as hell, knew every punk band and would joke around during his hardest times. When I think about the petty nonsense that has tortured me over the last few months, I have to reconsider it all, considering his battle and ultimate loss. This life can be so cruel some times.
