At 22 I was in a soul destroying job. I hated it, it made me unhappy. I could see my future career path and i didn't like what it was promising.
So I gave it up and swore that if I ever wake up in the morning and feel like not wanting to go to work, i'd change my job. And, to this day I've been true to that promise. I've had nearly 3000 jobs...joke ;-)
"Love' is an inaccurate description for what I feel about my work. But, it is creative, stimulating, exciting, challenging, full of adventure, privileged, pretty well payed and it allows me the time I need to do the stuff I really love, nurture my family and enjoy my friends.
I've achieved a pretty good balance.
