I was blown out of bed this morning by a full building fire alarm. I ran to the front door in my underpants to check the apartment hallway... it was filled with smoke. Threw on clothes and grabbed my IDs / money / laptop / dog and hauled ass outside with the rest of the building.
Turns out the twit in 306 put her oven on self clean then went out for a walk... that horrid lingering smell has made its way through the entire building now.
Side note: More than one tenant called 911. We are a tiny little town however the Fire Dept we can WALK TO in less than 8 minutes. The fucking FD didn’t show for over 20 mins - some of us were informed that because it’s Sunday nobody was directly at the fire house... it’s funny how you think you live in a nice small town with what appears to be good people that you would think their emergency services were on point... nope. My building would be rubble if it was an actual fire.
