I just gave my new e-mower a test run and it passes the test. My gas mower has been on the fritz for a year or more, there was a huge sale on these e-mowers so I did some research and went for it. The battery is a 56 V lithium ion and can run give or take for 60 minutes. It comes with three different blades, headlights (!) and a self-propel feature. This mower is quieter - I no longer need to wear ear protection, it's lighter weight so easier to push around my hilly yard, and the cut quality is very good. And it folds up for storage which is a huge plus for me and my 6'x10' shed.

- My cousin has one that mows the lawn by itself, then parks itself to recharge. It’s like a much bigger roomba, but for grassGnash
- We've got a wired one, a present, totally quiet compared to our neighbour's one (you can listen it coming like a huey copter in Nam, miles away...)OBBTKN

- Wouldn't mind one of the automatic ones. Edinburgh has them in some public areas to keep the grass short. Pretty neat.microkorg
- Would be good for our back garden but would likely get nicked from the front garden :(microkorg
- Just get a non-motor push mower, good work out and silent. better for the environment, last forever.shapesalad
