I can understand were you are coming from. My boss, actually pushed me into that role. I consider myself a senior level designer. He felt the way I handle the work, managed the team and worked with clients, fit the role of design director. The resume also does not talk about my boss passing away from cancer at the age of 32. When that happened, I worked as an interim creative director. Managing all creative work and production, until we found ourselves a great replacement for amazing creative director. This was an easy thing to do, because we had the best team at the time.
