    moth. if you read all the reports closely the reason why brittian was singled out as an example is because it is kept warm by the gulf steam, which is dependant on freshmelt water mixing with salt water.
    As the ice caps are melting faster each year the gulf stream could change its course; leaving brittian without any protection from the atlantic. This could then give it a similar winter too sweden, iceland... and it could happen in 20 years. Most of the manmade global warming has only become powerful enough to effect the environment in the last 80 years.
    Another 20 years of increased population, fossil fuel usage... could emulate the last 100 years of global warming. Consider things like the worlds population has doubled in the last 50 years.
