tldr: is ceramic coated cookware safe? we don't know.

    • porcelain enamel coated cast iron is superiorimbecile
    • yes after jumping into cookware rabbit hole, i've found a consensus. enamel cast iron, cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, real ceramic are all deemed topango
    • be safer than teflon, and ceramic coated cookware. and safe in general.pango
    • safe and some what none stick options are: cast iron, enamelled cast iron or carbon steel, carbon steel, stainless steel. but all required preheating.pango
    • preheating takes time and experience. that's why it's harder to learn and less convenient. but general rule is preheat the pan till 200F with out oil for it topango
    • become none stick. however frozen food can drop the temperature of the pan, so you need to watch out for that.pango
    • I'm cast iron myself, but have always heard make water dance before you use your pan, i.e. leidenfrost effectimbecile
    • i think occurs at 320F - 390Fpango
    • but for none stick purpose above 200F is good enough.pango
    • All you need is a carbon steel frying pan and a cast iron casserole pot.shapesalad
