If you're 2,5 m away from your 55" TV, can you tell the difference between 1080p and 4k?

    I honestly can't.

    • Maaaybe if i watch a 4K demo reel. But even then 1080p looks 95% just as good from that distance.jagara
    • A friend gave me a huge TV, which we quickly gave away exactly because of this. We just watch our smaller TV closer. *shrug*Nairn
    • My friend was incredulous "It wasn't THAT big". "Aye it was, it took up half a fucking wall". I'm not sure why i said 'maybe?' in the first place to the offer.Nairn
    • You get used to those very quick.
I remember unpacking my 30 inch apple display when they came out and feeling ashamed by how big it was. Ended up buying a 2nd

    • I really like my big TV. Even if all i watch is 1080p video. I prefer a bigger screen further away than a smaller screen closer by. Better sound too.jagara
    • 55” is the smallest you can buy now practically. 75” is where it’s at for 3m viewing distance.monospaced
    • At that size I can easily tell the difference. 55 would be more difficult for sure.monospaced
    • I have a 40” 720p lcd tv I got used for $40. I’ve gotten 2, maybe 3 comments about how good it looks. And I does! Nice color. Deep blacks. Good viewing anglemonNom

    • The problem is not the tech nor the method in the AI, the principal problem right now is that the model is wrong trained with millons of images without consent.Gabriel
    • I’ve never bought a TV or had one. My brain is not polluted with garbage.shapesalad
    • Get off your child-size high horse, ss, you've made the mistake of sharing some of the utter bilge you watch on YouTube.Nairn
    • I never watch network TV - my TV is connected to a computer. So YT, streaming services and pirated movies only.
Still my brain is very polluted with garbage.
