I heard a story on the radio this morning about Chat GPT bot. It can generate written content - very decent content - by typing in a request into a prompt. The radio host told it to generate a paragraph about frogs for an NPR radio segment. The generated content was spot on. Then it was told to generate it poem form, again...rhymes were on time. Kids are using it to cheat on school assignments, but this is some seriously crazy stuff. What a fucked up world we're starting to untangle

    • Was this post generated with it?Nairn
    • It's free for the moment but it uses x10 the energy as a google search, if the whole world uses it, data centres can't cope.shapesalad
    • Expect it to be for the elite only soon enough.shapesalad
    • I need to check, but I think only the training of the model is energy intense. once it's tested and running, it doesn't cost a lot energy.uan
    • I think I read the rendered model could be burnt into a single micro-chip and used in virtually anything.uan
