I can’t believe the hoops a person has to jump through to get electricity in one’s garden shed in california. I have to track down blueprints, get a building permit (it didn’t have one apparently), have an inspection, hope they don’t tell me to tear it all down, get an electrical permit, hire a licensed contractor, then have him wank me around for a few thousand dollars.

I can do it myself in an afternoon with a hacked extension cable and like $20 in parts from home depot.

Bureaucracy is killing me these days

    • If the shed has been permitted originally, it would have been a cinch. This happened to me too where we had to retroactively permit old structure additionsmonospaced
    • Good luck. Hopefully they can open and close the survey and permits quickly and it doesn’t cost too much.monospaced

    • Thanks. I wanna move my metal and woodworking stuff there. stuff that takes a lot of room and makes a messscarabin
    • Shouldn’t have bothered with a permit, it’s an easy job. Don’t need a permit here for electrical, only need it if you’re adding plumbingGnash
