I've noticed a lot of old men have very strong opinions and are bipolar in how they express them -- the opposite of being diplomatic. I used to think old people become more indifferent. Maybe they are, or they just pretend less.
Like when you meet an old relative: "Long time no see, come here and give me a hug! What are you gay? Get off me you faggot! So nice to see you again! etc"
