Republicans are anti-freedom. It’s pretty obvious.
Pro-police is anti-freedom.
Pro-life anti-abortion laws are anti-freedom.
Christine doctrine is anti-freedom.
States rights laws are anti-freedom. (It’s right there in the name, the right of the state, not the individual.)
Pro-military? The military can protect freedom, but is arguably the least-free organizations in the country. Quite the paradox there!
Voted ID laws are anti-freedom.
Death penalty is anti-freedom.The only two freedoms I see them arguing are freedom of speech (no one is arguing btw) and then also the right for white people to own as many guns as they want.
On average, republicans are very anti-freedom.
- I don’t disagree completely. To be fair states rights are a way to bring things closer to the people on the state vs national lawmonospaced
- In my experience, blue states have more laws than red statesYakuZoku
- I think both sides have ways of limiting freedom and transferring wealth from the people to corporations.Chimp
- My post is not about which side is more or less pro-freedom********
- Republicans talk about freedom all fucking day but really what they want is the Ten Commandments to be added to the Constitution********
- Not too far from the truth. The hypocrisy in how many laws they want that control the actions of other people is astounding.monospaced
- I would label it anti choice vs anti freedom but it amounts to the same thing for SOME people. And they have laws to protect SOME choices and award SOME freedommonospaced
- But state's rights is bullshit, because abortion is not going to be the end of legislation in red states. Millions of women have already lost their rights.garbage
- And those deep red states are so effectively gerrymandered that there will be covert abortion trips or dangerous illegal abortions.garbage
- As in it's already happening. The whole idea of "States' Rights" was in defense of slavery. They're just making a new slavery.garbage
- Yupmonospaced
- Think back to the Bush administration, Republicans supported all of that... torture, NSA surveillance, Iraq War, indefinite detention of anyone calledyuekit
- a terrorist by the government, Guantanamo Bay etc. But of course all these things are not aimed at them it's aimed at someone else.yuekit
- The Patriot Act was a shotgun aimed to the head of America. Cheney's got a thing for that.garbage
