Using a VPN sounds like a smart thing to do, when listening to the barrage of YT advertising for Surfshark, NordVPN, ExpressVPN and so on.

    I don't use one. Should I?

    And why?

    • Does a VPN stop me seeing the adverts for Surfshark, NordVPN, ExpressVPN and so on?Hayzilla
    • no, that's youtube premiumuan
    • If you do opt for a VPN, use Mullvad - most of those others are all the same, slightly suspect, company.Nairn
    • Never used one and never willdrgs
    • It’s for pirating. If you torrent, cover your assscarabin
    • I use expressvpn, no complaintsscarabin

    • ivpn ftw. you can pay for just 1 week if you like. also they don't require you to give them any of your info to setup an account.pango

    • Thanks, but I'm asking why use one in the first place?jagara
    • here in the UK you can't even access torrent trackers without one. thereafter they're good for obfuscating torrenting otherwise.Nairn
    • I liken a VPN to hiding your hands when entering a pin at an ATM or shop. Sure we should all do it to be safe but lifes too short man.Hayzilla
