just about every manufacturer will tell you to just make 1,000 cd's. the difference between 500 and a 1,000 is usually like $100 - $150.
Big mistake to do adhesive labels though. It won't be long before they are peeling up. They can even screw up the balance of the disc and not work in some players.
Where are you located? you sure there isn't a duplicator around you?
If get 1000 cd's made, expect to pay anywhere from $1,200 to $1,500. Some are cheaper, some are not.
If you don't mind ghetto, then go with the cheapest cd duplicator you can find. I'm sure the print will look like shit and they'll probably put your traycards in upside down. But hey, you want ghetto, you got it.
Pick up a "Mix" magazine, check out the back for ads. There are 1001 cd manufacturers out there.
