I got a lot of old Pentax lenses from a retiree. Does anyone of you have used an adapter from old lenses to DSLR?
I order one to test it. I guess the optics will be distorted and only manual mode will work...
- From what I've learned mounting FD lenses to a Canon R:
• Distortion can *usually* be mostly solved with using a lens profile from a more modern equivalentContinuity - For example, my FD 50 mm 1.4 SSC general corrects nicely if I use the EF 50 mm 1.4 lens profile in LR, with only a few minor subsequent tweaks.Continuity
- Otherwise, manual focussing is quite zen, after a while. Also, it forces you to learn zone focussing.Continuity
- As for adapters, I'm using one by Novoflex. Superb build quality, no play/wobble.

- I use a bunch of old Pentax lenses. Most sharp with very good contrast. Mild distortion that is easy to remove with camera-raw or lens-correction in photoshopmonNom
- For each lens, shoot a checkerboard or grid, then figure out the settings to remove lens distortion, and to fix chromatic aberration. Save your settings.monNom
- I've used the cheapest adapters and they worked fine. No need to spend a lot IMO.
