it's really incredible how each day the uvalde PD is making the best argument for abolition. at this point i don't know how people could imagine any cop excuse of "one bad apple" is valid. these people are all cowards & 19 kids are the most recent chalk marks on the board of evidence.

    • Now they are no longer cooperating with the investigation into their colossal fuckery because they 99.99% shot some of the kids.face_melter
    • abolition of what?monospaced
    • All this shows is that even cops don’t want to confront someone with an AR15, which is an argument to get them out of circulation.monospaced
    • abolition of the police - they only exist to protect property and the interests of capital through repression.face_melter
    • They respond to crime reports. They investigate crimes. They do a lot. Abolishing police isn’t any answer to this issue.monospaced
    • Cops buy up military surplus, there's a whole scheme there if you want to look into it. Actual trickle down economy when it comes to MIC to your local PD.garbage
    • Those cops had much more lethality at their disposal than that idiot child. So we either demand better training and accountability, or find a way to..garbage
    • ..strip them of the power they don't use. Abolition of the police isn't an answer, but we need to make it clear what their fucking job is.garbage
    • Hero cops don't get to be cowards; it's the job you signed up for. Also big LOL to "they investigate crimes".garbage
    • @garabage..that trickle down effect fuels the idea of militarized police and shifts their mindset of "streets are a warzone and civilians the enemy" too. yikes.Cnazz
    • ^ Exactly this.garbage
    • Why lol? Of course they investigate crimes. Do you actually know anything about the police or just spouting off shit randomly?monospaced
    • You really think that cops are super diligent good guys that really go in and "investigate" like a bunch of noble Batmans?garbage
    • As for personal experience: I was once arrested over a traffic stop (broken headlight that I fixed and paid the fines for). Because of a clerical error..garbage
    • ..on their part, I was walking around with a warrant. Had to spend a night in jail, then go fight it in court. Was apologized to, it was expunged.garbage
    • Court found the dept at fault, that they were to pay my court fees and bail. Must have been a clerical error, because I never saw dime one.garbage
    • Here in Seattle I've had 4 bikes stolen. Never heard a word from them after filing reports.garbage
    • I have, however, been flashbanged and hit with a cop's bike while attending a peaceful protest.garbage
    • https://www.axios.co…garbage
    • Or how our former police chief just admitted she destroyed evidence related to some of the more recent protests here.garbage
    • And one of my best friends was a cop for 5 years. He liked to joke that they were "the biggest gang in town".garbage
