May 9th is victory day in Russia with military parades and all. There is an obvious pressure for them to find a pretext for a victorious exit before that date.
It will be interesting to see if Putin will participate. Usually he is out there in the open overseeing the ceremony, but lately he's been hiding even from his own life guards...
