Ordered one of these gadgets this week, and it arrived today. Got to say I'm impressed! After 3 minutes of grinding each side, then a couple of minutes of honing each side, it did a good enough job on my knives that I was able to shave hair off my arm with all the ones I sharpened.

    Defo recommend.

    • Did you use a sharpening stone before?
      If so, is it better?

    • This is a sharpening stone set, pal. Just a unique setup that appears to help keep angle consistent. Looks promising, actually. My traditional set is a pain.monospaced
    • This is going straight on my want list :) As a cook who uses chef's knives to prepare almost every meal of the day, every day, this would be oh so helpful.monospaced
    • Having to guess and try to maintain the grinding angle on traditional whetstones is a pain in the fucking ass, ugh! This takes all the guesswork out.Continuity
    • And the build quality is top drawer.Continuity
    • Thanks for the info.palimpsest
    • That looks great. I gave up looking for an easier solution than the whetstone. Thanks!mandomafioso
    • I use the sorby pro edge system for my blades (I collect weapons)

    • "Choose your Variant" on the color selection. really?sarahfailin
    • 140€?!?!? More expensive than all my knives combined lolpango
    • Bobo do you have katanas on your wall?pango
    • 15 degrees is a bit fragile. I prefer 25 for my arsenal. The smatchet is 30.

    • 15 is for delicate cutting. Not whacking things around.pango
    • pango, do yourself a solid and get at least one high quality pro knife that costs more than $100. Please.monospaced
    • A quality knife can take more and hold its edge. 15-20 deg is perfect for food prep.monospaced
    • Lol I have used pro chef knife before and understand why it's good. But at the end of the day, if it does the job then it's fine.pango
    • Ummmmmonospaced
    • my next knife will be a good one i promise you. when my current one breaks.pango
    • You don’t want a knife that barely does the job. And nobody would sharpen them if that was the case. A good sharp knife is amazing.monospaced
    • My current one can cut tomatoes into really thin slices if that passes the test :)pango
    • You're doing it wrong, pango.palimpsest
    • And there’s me using my broken stone I got for £2 in China town. Never had a problem with it.shapesalad
    • A Honda accord works just fine!!!!!pango
    • see! I spent more than shape! my stone is 10 bucks!pango
