I want to do some product-type shots for my portfolio, an ongoing project.
Is good lighting an an iPhone Pro enough?
Or should I buy a DSLR?
Which DSLR?- Dslr prob. overkill for web sharing. But ey, I'm not a photo nerdOBBTKN
- What’s your budget?futurefood
- Imo the resolution is just ok for 8x10 print. With some good lighting and limitation, it's definitely doable.pango
- There are tons of videos on YT of people show casing how they take product photography with smart phone camera.pango
- With some external LED lights, yeah, the iPhone Ultra does a great job********
- I can’t stand how the iPhone lens distorts at close range.monospaced
- Yepshapesalad
- use the telephoto lens!********
- You want pro-quality, you need good stuff and pro-level skills. If you don't care about that, then don't care and use a phone.formed
- Any dslr will do. Used. Get a decent macro lens. Laowa seems to have some good options for cheap. A couple flashes/triggers would help immensely. Try yongnuo.monNom
- Product photography is all about lighting, so with that stuff and some creativity in backdrops/light modifiers, you should be able to achieve excellent resultsmonNom
- Yes. Lighting and other accessories are actually more important for product.pango
