“Australian state violated human rights in COVID lockdown-report.”

How far is too far, when it comes to controlling Covid? How many freedoms should we give up and when should these controls end?

I’m sure QBNers will have opposing views on this.

    • That's quite an old article. Is there anything more current or can you provide an update? Too tired to do my own research.sausages
    • yawn, don't you have a better platform to host your one man campaign on?fadein11
    • Human rights are so boring, yeah?Chimp
    • 2 year old links are.fadein11
    • The link is 13 months old (get your facts straight) but that’s so long ago that any human rights violations don’t matter any more.Chimp
    • So you find any human rights violation older than 13 months boring?Chimp
    • It was widely reported at the time. Mistakes were made globally, what's your point?fadein11
    • It's an example of the state going too far. Just as in Italy where they have strict controls that don't seem to making a difference.Chimp
    • My mother was trapped in spain at my uncles for 4 months at start of pandemic, rules were so much harsher than UK. Things getting back to normal now?fadein11
    • Yeah, it was quite strict here in Madrid in March 2020 but the city didn't lock down again after. They have just mandated masks in the street again here :/Chimp
    • So my point was that I feel that some of the restrictions are disproportionately strict and I'm worried that some governments will abuse their new powers.Chimp
    • Well UK gov does whatever the fuck it likes without a Covid excuse, like banning noisy protests lol. Perhaps i'm desensitised.fadein11
    • I’m in Blackpool the now, saw 3 junkie brawls in the 24 hours I’ve been here. No masks needed anywhere, back to normalPhanLo
    • Classic Blackpool. I hope the Tories get voted out in the next election.Chimp
