When the pandemic started he seemed like a helpful old doctor who could explain, in simple terms, what was happening. I watched a few of his videos and found them informative at the time.
Cut forward 18 months...I occasionally see his videos around and he now has 1.4M subscribers...his video titles are getting more click-baitey and more antivaxx from the look of things. Look into him further an you'll find he's not a medical doctor at all, he's an ex nurse teacher. He got his PhD in 'open learning resources for nurses'. He admits this in his about section of his youtube channel...but the fact he calls himself 'Dr' John Campbell and acts as if he's a medical doctor is intentionally misleading. He trawls through research papers, prints them out and underlines things with his fountain pen. I can see why people want to trust him and follow his videos, feeling like they're well informed...he has an 'avuncular figure, seems to talk sense' kind of manner. I wish people would find better sources on information.

- Kind of like how most states don't allow people running for office to use "Dr" in their election ads.garbage
- Most famously, former Alabama governor Dr. Robert Bentley was not allowed to use his title while running for office, so he legally changed his name.garbage
- For a brief time his name was Dr. Dr. Robert Bentley. He quickly changed his name back after some severe campaigning. And he won because idiot Alabamians wentgarbage
