Celebrated my parents 60th wedding anniversary this past weekend. Being married for almost 11 myself, I look at the patience, devotion and love that it takes to make it that long and it blows me away - especially in todays world.
A while ago, my father told me how sometime back in the 80s my Mom told him she wanted a divorce, but he said he wouldn't do it. I'm grateful that they never got divorced - and my Mom has not been holding a grudge all this time.
We went out to a restaurant on Saturday which is a big deal. My pops (85 yo) has a degenerative condition called neuropathy that has affected his legs and he can't really walk without the help of a walker. He uses it in the house and it's so hard to watch him because it's not an easy task but he doesn't want the help. So we found a restaurant that had a relatively easy entrance for him and he had such a good time. It was so good to see him enjoying himself out for a night.
