Print specialists - I have a question, regarding artboard sizing in illustrator:
eg, I make an artboard for A4 paper size, 210 X 297mm, 300dpi
According to this calculator https://pixelcalculator.com/en in pixels it should be 2480 X 3508 Pixels.
But in Illustrator, if I change my preferences>units from mm to pixels... the Artboard is now 595.2756 X 841.8898 px
What's going on? Should I just ignore illy and go with 2480 X 3508 Pixels.
I need to export the layout to procreate, then from there to photoshop.
If I follow through with illustrators pixel sizing it's all too small with procreate and photoshop. So I guess I've answered my own question.
Is this another 'adobe' thing. Is it simply going by a default 72dpi?
- yeah... it's 72dpi.how to make sure it's locked to 300dpi?shapesalad
- Illy, by default, does paper space. So always keep the units in mm / 300dpi.face_melter
- bless you for resurrecting a 16 year old thread to ask this questionBaskerviIle
- When you export, just export at 300dpi. It will be correct. You do NOT think about pixels while working in mm.monospaced
- I just confirmed by testing. Export A4 at 300dpi, and it is 2481x3508 pixels. :)monospaced
