Just up and decided to go to college finally.... at 39yrs old.... went online and started the application process. Within days i had finished registration and went and talked to the school in person to make sure i had really done everything right.
I feel way to old to start this but old enough to finally enjoy learning on a schedule and ditch the 21years of learning on the job and floating between careers. I finally want the piece of paper to say i know what i'm talking about.
Hopefully by the time i graduate the financial system will have all collapsed in America and school loans have been dissolved in the revolution.
- It's more about the connections rather than that piece of paper, but never too late! Congrats man!********
- You could be working another 30 years easy in the future so learning new stuff is different to previous generations.PhanLo
- I was speaking to a joiner today who worked 31 years for 1 company, basically since he finished his apprenticeship. That's so rare now.PhanLo
- @PhanLo Milton practiced until his death (rip) at 90-91? Don't think designers ever retire.
So @freakpelican buddy you stillhave 30-40 years of practice ahead!******** - "It's more about the connections rather than that piece of paper"
Shut up retard, even when cheering up people you're lame.******** - Good for you. I went at 39, got a masters in the middle of covid.cannonball1978
- Designer = career for life, job for a few months, un-employment for a few years...shapesalad
- I don't really care about the piece of paper as much as proving to myself i could get a degree in photography and not just "be a photographer"freakpelican
- I totally fell into the graphic+web design/film editing work i got in my early 20's. During the flash days i really felt inspired.freakpelican
- But i always felt like a horrible graphic designer and a poser of a web designer past AS2. Photography became my job in my 30'sfreakpelican
- Now to actually take time to study what i have figured out i am best at after years of 'fake-it-til-you-mak... feels like ill appreciate it more.freakpelican
- Fuck yeah, never stop learningscarabin
- Never stop exploring, TNF********
