i literally just started learning blender so this somehow seems easier in PSSteveJobs - add a bevel modifier to the default cube, use the default light, add a plane under the cube and move camera directly above. press F12monNom
- oops, sorry, change the default light to a sun lamp and adjust 'angle' to affect the spread of the shadow diffusion. Also orthographic camera.monNom

- More tips: use cycles render engine. Set the material of the cube to 'holdout' and tick 'transparent' under the film panel. Now you've got a reusable frame.monNom
