Got the vaccine yesterday, Oxford one.
Last night in bed my shins and knees were sweating but I felt freezing, slept for hours.
Today I have a sore back and am generally achey.

    • lol Sweaty Shins and knees? How peculiarly-specific! Going to try and wrangle my shot this next week or so - apparently you can just walk inNairn
    • ...to vax centres near the end of a day and they're trying to encourage people in, to use up remaining daily vax dosesNairn
    • The sore back and body aches stuck with me for almost 4 days. Mostly in the evenings.monospaced
    • I always wonder how so much sweat can come out my shins, there isn't much flesh there. @Nairn I heard the people at the centre say that about chancing it.PhanLo
    • Worth a shot for sure. @monospaced I'm hoping I'm over the worst of the acheyness, but I reckon it could hang around. Resisting the urge to go back to bed.PhanLo
    • Down here in LDN certain communities aren't taking up their allocation, so apparently nurses are out on street asking passers-by. Crazy..Nairn
    • I hope to fuck we get 'herd'-levels soon and start massively exporting doses to countries in need. UK needs a gold star. Or at least a smiley face sticker.Nairn
    • Is that true Nairn? If so, we have a vaccination place round the corner which i'll go check this evening out.Ianbolton
    • I think it depends upon the area - we have low uptake in London. That said, I know two people (younger than me) from different boroughs who did exactly this.Nairn
    • @ianbolton, not sure where you are in the country but i have friends just out of there 20s who have had there first dose. It seems to be up to the vaccination..Morning_star
    • ...centre but by 3 o'clock most days they've been through those that have appointments and will literally give it to anyone who rocks up. These guys were from..Morning_star
    • ...Birmingham,Manche... and London.

      FFS also, 'Their' not 'there'

    • PhanLo, how'd you get it? Is it just regular rollout or are you on a special list? You're Leith side of the 'burgh arent you?microkorg
    • A client of mine volunteers in a West London vax clinic and they are def giving out unused shots at the end of the day.Fax_Benson
    • @microkorg since my father-in-law died last year we are looking after my wife's mum. So we applied for a non-paid carers vaccine.PhanLo
    • We had to go out to a Royal Bank building ta the gyle, was weird out there, just giant empty offices.PhanLo
    • It just opened for 35 y/o in Belfast out of the blue, got booked in for Wedskingsteven
    • I think it's close to that here too @kingstevenPhanLo
    • about to hit 66% first dose here which is mad scotland is close - was surprised england is only 33%. my sister is teaching in bristol, just back in schoolkingsteven
    • and hasn't been able to get one... she's coming over to stay with us when term ends in a couple weeks, hoping she doesn't have to resort to vaccine tourism hakingsteven
    • got thrown off by rehashed news, england is close to 50% looking at the stats. ROI only at 25% - they may get us back yet for fucking up the first lockdownkingsteven
    • Yeah my uncle in Mayo only got his first jab last week. They're quite behind it seems.PhanLo
    • I feel a lot better today, out to do some painting for a job. So hopefully that's it.
Back's still a bit achey. My wife says her arm is still sore.
