  that article/letter was ridiculous for many reasons, too many of which to try and type all of them

  one statement that stands out is "Had the dancers been wearing Hassidic Jewish, Catholic, or Muslim symbols, they would not have been allowed to perform."
  check: madonna and other celebrities popularizing mehendi.

  theres a difference in trying to teach kids to respect other cultures rather than teaching them to fear retribution if they happen to wear something that resembles an item used or worn by another culture. this is going too far
