Every year 500 000 people get the flu in Norway (regular flu).
It has been 13 so far this year.

    • some on this board will say that you are anti-science by looking at data and drawing logical conclusions.pr2
    • because of hand washing and mask wearing and social distancing. The flu is 3000x less contagious than covid 19_niko
    • they also have 700 covid deaths compared to Sweden's 13,000 deaths. Norway had 98k total cases, Sweden 900K total cases. tell me about logical conclusions_niko
    • "3000x less contagious" this is a logical fallacy that one would think nobody would commit... alas...pr2
    • Sweden's death rate is EXACTLY that of countries with very strickt lock-down.pr2
    • except for their direct apples to apples neighbours Finland and Norway._niko
    • which very strict lockdown countries? New Zealand? Vietnam? Thailand? how about Laos? they have 7 milllion people but only 49!!!! cases so far. that's less than_niko
    • Antarctica got. Lol_niko
    • or are you talking about the strict lockdowns in freedom-loving countries like the good ol US of A? or Brasil? ffs._niko
    • clarity of argumentation doesn't seem to be your strong suite. i have no idea anymore what it is that you are proponent of.pr2
    • lolmonospaced
    • Sarcasm isn’t your strong suit :)
I countered your assertion that Sweden fared just as poorly with their strategy as countries with very strict lockdowns
      _niko
    • With examples of countries with ACTUAL lockdowns and a strategy in place with Super low cases and low deaths compared to Sweden and not countries like the US_niko
    • With bullshit lockdown measures ie a bunch of plandemic hoax yahoos who gather and go about their business like everything’s normall- so no real lockdown._niko
    • Every single model out there shows how cases drop dramatically when actual lockdowns are in place and how they spike when they are relaxed_niko
    • And even Sweden, though no official lockdown people were still taking it upon themselves to do the right thing so no going to soccer matches for instance_niko
    • Thus my initial argument as to why Norway has 13 flu case and not 500,000 should be clear as mud now ;)_niko
    • what do you think happens 4 month from now? when countries that had it hard (like US for Sweden for instance) and vast majority had covid already?pr2
    • those countries open up and people start living while those "ACTUAL lockdown" countries where noone has any immunity look on from behind barber wire.pr2
    • barbed wirepr2
    • besides it's pretty naive that Norway had such a strict lockdown that it eradicated flu.pr2
    • naive to thinkpr2
    • immunity isn't forever, you can re-catch it, especially new variants and that's where vaccines come in. Sweden and the US will have unecessarily sacrificed the_niko
    • lives of thousands of people for some bullshit herd immunity that never came. Look at New Zealand, strict lockdown, no cases, no immunity either but they got_niko
    • vaccines, were able to open up again and didn't do it at the high cost of human life._niko
    • at the end of the day, i have my family and my kids to look after, my wife caught it but the rest of us didn't, that doesn't mean we're going to be dickheads_niko
    • go around maskless thinking we're immune and potentially infect others. We're also not going to a full ballpark to watch millionaires throw a ball around_niko
    • or dine in crowded overpriced restaurants any time soon if that's what freedom of not being in a lockdown means._niko
    • dig a hole in the ground and go live there. on the way pat yourself on the should for you will be safe AND not infect others.pr2
    • but don't impose your anti-science (do you know what is liklyhood of re-infection? go look it up!) onto others to pander to your fears.pr2
    • lolmonospaced
