Anyone here ever replaced a retina MacBook Pro battery themselves? I've found the right parts and video tutorials of the process but it still looks tricky due to being glued in. My eldest daughter could use it and aside from the battery it's still a good machine.

    • It's a lot of very careful disassembly and reassembly. Definitely "advanced" as far as laptop repairs go.evilpeacock
    • Might get the parts and get a repair guy to do it. Thanks for the heads upsausages
    • That's a decent compromise. Still could get expensive as a new replacement battery kit is close to $200.evilpeacock
    • it is absolutely worth it to do this sort of thing yourselfscarabin
    • I started getting a bit iffy when they mentioned lots of heat and/or solvent to get the battery outsausages
    • Use it plugged in and/or get an external battery pack.comicsans
