i think we all understand and can appreciate the concept behind affirmative action. the problem is that 'discrimination' is a four letter word and one that makes lawyers drool. we are such a litigious nation that if you look at somone of a different ethnicity, religion, or gender for too long, you're almost guaranteed a lawsuit.
everyone wants equal rights and to end segregation and discrimination, yet they set themselves apart from everyone granting themselves special rights and priveledges.
what justifies this act of activism is that it shows how all of a sudden it's wrong for white people to do what these other 'minority' groups have been doing for years.
