a 15gb iPod would be a great solution for you. I had a 5gb model and was able to store plenty of songs on it and had lots of space left over to transfer files back and forth between macs at school and home. It would be able to transfer files back and forth between PCs too. You don't need anything else, it comes with the proper cables. As long as you have a firewire port then you're all set. If you have USB 2.0 instead then you'll need an adapter cable.
