So this is the state of things. Made some furniture to get things positioned where I want. Been messing around with all this gear in mini setups for months and everything works the way I want. Now I need to hook it up proper so everything its 24/7 live and acessible.

I have three 24 channel patchbays so covered there. Made a diagram of all the point to point audio connections I want as a base setup and its 50 ish cables.... which if I run them all into a patchbay is 100 ish cables.

Currently own four 8 channel hosa snakes. I really dont want to spend another $300 on hosa snakes.

Any insight on how to source or build dirt cheap 6ft long 1/4" TS cables? I gather they need to be coaxial, correct?

Also am I crazy? Is this too many audio cables?

    • years ago i bought a roll of cable and a load of jack plugs and spent a dreary few hours cutting and soldering, binding the lot together with gaffer tape.hans_glib
    • amazingly they still all work.hans_glib
    • What kind of music do you make with such a sweet setup?shapesalad
    • Personally I'd be making an album in this style https://www.youtube.…shapesalad
    • Nice hans.... I bet it gets a bit zen after a while. Luckily I found that sweetwater had 6ft hosa snakes for $18 vs Amazons $27 and grabbed a bunch.epigraph
    • Currently the stuff Im churning out has a lo fi jazz vibe. Im really focusing on improvisational leads lately.epigraph
