Honestly I still don't buy the whole Trump-as-a-Nazi bit.

Like, the dude is a capitalist. And while personally I hate Nazis just as much as capitalists, it's incredibly important to discern the two.

Nazis follow an ideology, Trump follows a narrative. Since day one of his initial 2016 campaign, his entire routine has been to one-up the media in a game of self-obsession. He's used hateful rhetoric as a way to game the system because that's what America has told capitalists to do over the years: Disrupt.

The thing is, the news is reluctant to call him a Nazi because he really isn't, but at the same time they aren't going to call out his behavior because he's a businessman since, well, that's their target demo. So they get into this white supremacist fiasco where you have dipshits on CNN calling southern insurrectionists a group of anarchists.

There's just no coherence at all between what people believe and what they're associated with at a mass level, and part of me believes that is intentional; keeping the people from actually cohering ever against the powers that be / aligning in class struggle to overthrow the state

    • White supremacists ended up following him because they're the last ones dumb enough to see a guy like that as a leader, so he by defacto is associatedcolin_s
    • Ask the Central Park 5 if he’s racist.instrmntl
    • media labelling is often way off but 'Trumpism' does seem to contain endless sects and sub-sects. He's a kind of corpulent trojan horse for myriad nutjobs.Fax_Benson
    • very smart observations colin_sdkoblesky
    • He's aligned himself with christian fascists, just using their soft minds to become somewhat of a god king. He's cool with nazis, just maybe not one himself.PhanLo
    • I wouldn't necessarily call him either. Nazism is a distinct ideology like you said. The ideological white nationalists such as Richard Spencer abandoned him ayuekit
    • long time ago. But he's not really a very good capitalist either.yuekit
    • You'll notice he never talks about free markets or anything like this, just making deals and forcing people to do things. I'd say best comparison is like theyuekit
    • corrupt leader of some backwater country who is kind of an idiot but builds a cult of personality.yuekit
    • he's only really interested in the sycophants. I don't think he understands or cares that lots see / saw trumpism as a vehicle to hijackFax_Benson
