Since I spend most of my time in our basement working during the day, I've barely been listening to any records, which are upstairs with my turntable connected to a Sonos setup.
Bought some Klipsch RP-500m speakers and the RP-120 subwoofer, and spent the day wiring everything into our basement entertainment center with a Marantz receiver I hadn't used since we bought our house a few years ago. Next up, the contractor we use is going to sand and paint this white, paint the basement, and get a TV mounted and get this all tidied up.
I haven't listened to records on a fully wired setup in four years and I'm loving this. Been going through records I'd forgotten about and forgot that this Marantz has a sweet spot in the volume that just really shines. Listened to a Catherine wheel record I've listened to hundreds of times over the years on vinyl, cd, streaming, and was hearing new guitar parts in certain songs I'd never noticed before.
When I do the work with the contractor, going to wire the receiver to the speakers on my desk as well, since the receiver has multi-room output
- Nice. I have a couple Marantz components as well. Terrific brand. Solid build.DRIFTMONKEY
