I'm 110% *NOT* anti-vaxx.
But, I'm a bit concerned with these two vaccines. Normally, vaccines need years of painstaking research, testing, going back to the drawing board, and so on.
Having not one but two supposedly high-efficiency vaccines in less than a year sounds like utter fiction to me.
If either (or both) are found to be absolutely safe, I'll happily get the jab, but I certainly won't be the first to queue up for it. I want to wait and see.
Anyone else feel the same way, or am I being too pessimistic again?
- I definitely wouldn't be first in line, but having already had covid I'm not too worried about it anyway.MondoMorphic
- Hopefully the MAGAcrowd will line up first to get their FREEdumb shots. If the vaxx works they superspreaders will be saved. If it fails superspreaders be gone!utopian
- new vaccines, like new apple os, are best left to early adopters to find and iron out the bugshans_glib
- Oh Captain scaredy pants utopian who brags about Corona infection rates won't take the vaccine?Hayoth
- Same here man. You can't take vaccines back. And I'm not ani-vax either. I ran out for the flu shot. There's a new baby in the fam coming so I got the tdap too.shellie
- ^ Oh! Congrats?Continuity
- Between each test there are usually months or years in order to find more funding for a vaccine... here they can move onto the next stage without that problemSlashPeckham
- Shellie congrats
Someone needs to queue up a
Proud Moms.. threadRamanisky2 - yeah, iam not anti-vaxx either but I feel the same as you and i think many people probably feel the same.Bennn
- I agree 100% Cont. It's going to be a tricky decision to make though considering there's latent talk about making it mandatory in some places.ben_
- Just let nature do its process by culling herd. According to the MAGAtards by now everyone should have "herd mentality".utopian
- First up, you definitely won't be first in line: front line works and those who need it most will be.BaskerviIle

- Secondly, the increased speed is more the effect of reducing red tape and speeding up lengthy approval processes, not from cutting corners in search/testingBaskerviIle
- ^ exactly, BaskervilleGnash
- I'm with you on this. I'm treating this just like every new iphone. I'll wait it out while everyone else goes first and work out the bugs.mapleT
- baskerville is right by the time it gets to me, like next autumn, i guess it'll be clear if it works and how well.renderedred

- they did most of the work on SARS1 no?fadein11
- The speed just shows how quickly things can be done when urgently needed. I doubt there is a lot more to worry about than the actual virus and knock on effects.fadein11
- @shellie Ah, that's right, you told me that a few weeks ago on FB. Sorry, I forgot. :DContinuity
- Reach out while you're in town, shellie!MondoMorphic

My CEO is one of them (ex doctor) i will take it as soon as it offered.necromation - yup necrofadein11
- The vaccines while new and quickly made, are based on years of prior research and learnings. So all the 'normal' research and test is already priced in.shapesalad
- NOT falling for this one again...grafician
