i haven't had a "real" job (aka 9 to 5, or really any sort of salary) in like 7 years and i recently moved in to my first apartment in over 6. it's been a pretty difficult "re-domestication" given that there's not much social life, i'm in a brand new city (know 2 people in LA from previous places) and so on one hand, the unemployment and freedom go hand in hand with how i'm used to living, but on the other i really need the structure if i'm going to be doing shit like paying bills regularly.
it's strange how much financial uncertainty contributes to anxiety. like i think part of the reason i've traditionally always been nervous is my general living-by-the-skin-of-my-teeth that was my 30s. now with the world in the state it's at, i'm not sure i'll ever get to where a person "ought" to be in terms of any sense of security, especially in america.
then again i never thought i'd make it this far anyway, so there's that.
anyway i know i get really reactionary and aggressive from time to time, y'all can just assume i'm freaking out about something else in reality.
- if you want "structure" is either a full-time job or full-time relationship. Pick.grafician
- but also living on auto-pilot for so long, distorts your sense of what's possible.grafician
- then again, some people need structure, others thrive on auto-pilot induced freedom, you need to figure out which one are yougrafician
- I wake up, bathe, eat, dressed with a tie by 8/8:30 daily... to sit at my own desk. Structure is necessary.imbecile
