Has anyone tried Cavalry? It *looks* like AE.

Thing is, the monthly license is about the same as After Effects.

    LOL.

    • just looking at that interface or AE's interface gives me anxiety...
serious respect for ppl in animation and motion graphics!

    • Wow I must’ve been under a rock. First time I hear about this. Need to check out.NBQ00
    • I tried it, has some fun generative stuff in it, but I never got too into the tutorials.PhanLo
    • Can’t imagine it’s on par with AE and its complexity but yeah need to check out.NBQ00
    • For a beta/1.0 it's the only interesting contender to AE so far.evilpeacock
    • but....it is as if they are saying 'you want this because it is better' not...much cheaper

    • If I am going to put out $25 a month...I may as well pay for AEdkoblesky
    • Got a feeling shapesalad had a go with it? Don’t think it’s a genuine AE alternative.MrT
    • It’s not like AE. I used the Beta. It’s more an gui for code based graphics effects in a 2D vector space. You can do complex graphical setups.shapesalad
    • Limited use for it in my opinion.shapesalad
    • Best way to think about - it’s a 2D version of cinema 4D’s mograph, thinking particles and xpresso.shapesalad
    • I guess there must be demand for it if they charge $25/moNBQ00
    • I always thought AE should incorporate some of Cinema 4D's mograph approach to parametric effectors. You can do it with Expressions but it's a bit complex.CyBrainX
