there was a world series. dodgers won.
there was an nba championship. lakers won.
california must be proud of their 17,500 covid deaths.
they're probably sad they are second behind texas' 18,000.
(everything's bigger in texas, am i right?)
fun fact, the rays are from florida, where there are 16,500 deaths (third place!)

    go sports!

    • none of the championship games played in their home states... NBA had a quarantine bubble in orlando...jonny_quest_lives
    • Baseball World Series played in Texas with a limited fan base and cardboard cut outs. Football seems to be a disaster waiting to hapoen thoughjonny_quest_lives
    • my point was that prioritizing sports appears synonymous with deprioritizing health and safety measures in these geographical locations.imbecile
    • whether attendance led to transmission was irrelevant as bravado appears prevalent in areas affected by further spreading of covid 19imbecile

    • i'm not singling out CA. CA singled itself out being second in Covid deaths and first in two sports. they wrote their own priorities. i just noted them.imbecile
    • it's a legitimate discussion to have... given that a player was pulled out in the 7th inning due to a positive test shows you can't protect players...jonny_quest_lives
    • but largely California's lockdown has resulted in these bubble type setups... NBA, MLB UFC all holding out of state championship eventsjonny_quest_lives
    • Rams have to play in an empty stadium:

    • "CA singled itself out being second in Covid deaths and first in two sports. they wrote their own priorities." i don't even know what that meansjonny_quest_lives
    • you make it seem as if California dictates what the MLB and the NBA do... At the state level there is a lockdown... so no attendance stadiums.jonny_quest_lives
    • Disneyland is still closed. Most schools are remote learning We have the second highest death toll due to our large population not as result of lax lockdowns...jonny_quest_lives
    • Califonia has 39.96 million residents 918,000 Covid Infections and 17,468 Covid Deaths.jonny_quest_lives
    • current restrictions:

    • if you don't know what I mean, why are you continuing to type your drivel? california could have made public safety a priority. quite obviously, it has not.imbecile
    • go sports!imbecile
    • Illuminate me on what California can do to Prioritize public Safety... I'v posted our current restrictions... The World Series Wasn't held here.jonny_quest_lives
    • Trump is holding super spreader events with 20 thousand people crammed together meanwhile...jonny_quest_lives
    • The 2020 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays was played at Globe Life Field in Texas...jonny_quest_lives
    • In front of 11,500 fans, or 25 percent of the park's capacity, to be exact.jonny_quest_lives
    • so yeah California is totally out of line for that World Series held in Texas.jonny_quest_lives
    • Curse them for prioritizing sports over health. Shakes fist at sky Lifts middle finger to Trolljonny_quest_lives
    • Per capita California is actually doing quite well. Meanwhile the midwest is getting hammered.FNP14
    • This reads like a turd clickbait Facebook post circa 2013. Isn't supposed to end with, "I bet I won't even get 1,000 likes."toemaas
    • thank toemass for seeing that i'm not stating any correlatting information, just a few random facts that seem to irritate jqlimbecile
    • i don't care that CA has a lower half per capita rate. 18,500 people died.18,500 real people. but hey, sports!imbecile
    • not irritated in the slightest just not sure how sporting events held outside califonia contribute to the covid death rate here in california.jonny_quest_lives
    • "hey people are dying who gives a shit about sports?" probably would have been better received as it's a blanket indictment of society as a whole.jonny_quest_lives
    • i've had two coworkers lose family members to covid havent we've all been working remotely fornearly four months and there are a shitload more peoplejonny_quest_lives
    • in worse shape than us so I wake up everyday somewhat amazed we are all still somewhat functional as our Federal government has left us hanging and our statejonny_quest_lives
    • covid restrictions are all we got... no rent/mortage relief for people being laid off... shit is just dire all aroundjonny_quest_lives
    • The Midwest getting hammered is false. Kansas, for example is far below CA per capita rates. Just the same. Dead. I’d rather 50% of 200 die than 1% of 5 millionimbecile
    • Per capita is some trump loving nonsense to justify humans losing their lives.imbecile
