Bought myself my first cast iron pan. Made in USA by https://www.lodgecastiron.com/

I just watched a few Youtube videos on how to maintain it. Iam ready to go!

    • I recommend taking an orbital sander to it (60/120 grit) then wash and reasonakiersky
    • Lodge's are super rough to start and sanding will help get the surface super smooth fasterakiersky
    • Ooh, I like that you can change the silicone handle sheath prophylactic emergency sex toy thing. Y'can even get a leather one, altho it's a bit naff.Nairn

    • I use mine every day. It was my grandmother's. I think it's closing in on 75 years old. Easiest thing to maintain.monospaced

    • Honestly, the only REAL rule is to not scrub it with soap. You CAN use water, despite what some derps say. I recommend avoiding boiling any water based sauce.monospaced
    • For example, use it mostly for grilling and cooking with fat primarily. I wouldn't do a tomato sauce in it which will kill your seasoning layer if it's not goodmonospaced
    • you can use soap, just re-oil it after it's been cleaned and dried.imbecile
