    The more WE know:
What is the antibody cocktail Trump received?

It’s a combination of two antibodies directed against a key protein of the virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2. They bind to a region on the main surface spike protein that helps the virus attach to a receptor on human cells called angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). The targeted region is dubbed the receptor binding domain. One antibody comes from a human who had recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection; a B cell that makes the antibody was harvested from the person’s blood and the genes for the immune protein isolated and copied. The other antibody is from a mouse, which was engineered to have a human immune system, that had the spike protein injected into it.

It is like a passive vaccination. The difference is - while with an active vaccination the antibodies have to grow for a longer time. With passive vaccination patients get a protection immediately.

Just hope that people do not fall in the superhero trap, IF Trump regenerates fast, they do not have to take covid seriously, since this treatment is very promising but not for public use until now.

    • Vaccine is pointless if you already have covid. Derp.monospaced
    • no mono, you could have covid again in a few months, any vaccine or fix will only last up to 6 months...so again, not fit to continue
      ********
    • since it's an passive vaccine it works when having the infection already! Regeneron: "It also worked best in people who had higher levels of the virus"api
    • Remember our designer drug thread? Somebody start a designer vaccine thread because that's our future for a year at minimum.garbage
    • @graf, a vaccine does not treat covid, it only helps prevent it, so no, a vaccine would be POINTLESS if you already have it.monospaced
    • Wait, it DOES work if you have the virus?monospaced
