I don't see how faking this helps him. Any sympathy felt from him having covid will be strictly limited to his supporters. He's behind in the polls so the debates and public appearances are way more important to him than Biden.
The taxes thing is old news already and 10-14 days quarantining means 10-14 days he's less able to set the news agenda to something else.
Plus it dents his macho self-image, undermines his whole approach to covid, highlights the efficacy of masks and distancing and is too far off from election day to be viable as an excuse to postpone.
How's he going to feel watching Biden strutting around while he's tucked up in bed.
- what if he's given it to Biden and Biden croaks?Fax_Benson
- It potentially helps him for the simple fact that it — theoretically — changes the news cycles to take the attention off things like taxes, racists, and polls.Continuity
- It's also — in his mind anyway — a chance at a power grab. He could claim the election wasn't fairly executed because he wasn't able to campaign.Continuity
- Thus, he could try to take it to the supreme court, in the event of a Biden win.Continuity
- he does that anywayFax_Benson
- That's how I interpret it, anyway. But, hey, what do I know? I just create ads for a living.Continuity
- yes, the faking will help him shit.. he is fucked anyway.neverscared
- I've always been kind of skeptical of these "they did it to change the news" type arguments...we're living in a time when any story will be gone from theyuekit
- headlines in a day or two regardless of what happens.yuekit
- yeah - covid and his handling of it is the last thing Trump wants dominating the newsFax_Benson
