Yup - I suspect that sunshine-derived Vitamin D is at least partly responsible for the lower death rates during this second upswing. If that's the case, then shit'll hit the fan when the clouds roll over and we get deeper into Autumn.- This doc has said all along it's the reason why there were such high deaths and hospitalisations in the UK of minorities...microkorg
- ... that people of colour cannot process enough vitamin D from the amount of sun we get , even if they are outdoors everyday.microkorg
- He's shocked and pissed that the Gov and WHO are only now realising this.microkorg

- Mm, I'm not sure at what point 'flatten the curve' became 'CLOSE ALL THE THINGS!'. The one thing we should've done is stop x% of inbound air travelNairn
- @king - as I've been saying to everyone, forever now - I don't think we can call a 'winning' strategy on any of this until this time next year.Nairn
- It's all still to play for! :)Nairn
- We should have closed borders first sniff of this. Asian countries and Baltic states that all did this had minimal cases.microkorg
- our UK overlords sat and watched it unfold in Europe for weeks and ignored all advice to lockdown early. Air travel yes, but also general lockdown.fadein11
- 1000's undoubtedly died unnecessarily because of our British 'exceptionalism'.fadein11
- Not enough sunshine in Brazil! Also Spain and Italy. It's not that easy, I would say.SimonFFM
