Clearly I've given up on life and just settled into Dad role.
I'm off to the in-laws for a week's 'holiday' and my trainers from last year aren't up to snuff. I've been looking around for a couple of weeks but not seen anything. Given I'm off in two days and have no more time, I've just this afternoon bought some miserable pair of pseudo-brand £22 trainers from Sports Direct*. They were literally the only pair in there I didn't hate, abd they're still 'not great'.
But I don't care.
For the next decade and a half, I'm likely going to be buying shit for myself and good shit for my daughter.
Just like it was with my Dad - I was such a spoilt, pretentious shit of a kid - I had all the clothes I wanted (within reason) and used to cringe at my Dad's wearing espadrilles from Continente because he didn't give a shit for hiself, did for me.
This is them - lol at me. They're shit, I know it.
.
* Sports Direct is a cheap-ass warehouse type store that everyone hates and hypocrites like me still use. They buy out once-beloved but now defunct brands and make shit around them, often promising huge price reductions "Boots: £55, Normal Retai costl: £180!" "Yeah, my arse they were ever worth that much".
meh.
- I don't buy shoes online. That would make things much easier, but the two times I've tried, it's ended up a pain in the arse for one reason or another.Nairn
- They'd actually not be *too* bad if they didn't have that shit 'techbloke' styling in the sole moulds. Why do people insist on doing that shit?Nairn

- ^, ^ and thrice ^Nairn
- Also, owner of Sports Direct is a fat cunt called Mike Ashley, who's been trying to sell Newcastle United to the fucking Saudi Royal Investment fund.Nairn
- that Ashley has become king of the high street is a national disgrace. Telling that plenty of Geordies see Bin Salman as an upgrade.Fax_Benson
- I helped a friend - an ardent Toon supporter and season-ticket holder for 20+ years - with some protest stencils he's been using to make rollable protest signsNairn
- Not seen him on TV yet.Nairn
- He's expecting to get banned.Nairn
