What are we doing different this time? Nada

What can be done exactly? Also nada, or at least its not completely clear to me here. I'm pretty sure the police has got the message already, but what can they do? Their work is chaotic and cannot be scripted to the smallest details. The fact that Floyd was high, had heart problems, and was resisting arrest wasn't helping -- how do you account for all of this? Accidents will happen.

    • how about swift accountability? the officer had 12 police brutality complaints. and history of shooting unarmed people.
      start there?
      pango
    • do soemthing when there's 1 or 2 complaints? not 13?!?pango
    • Go on...drgs
    • how about not having the police in question's colleague to do the internal investigation?pango
    • how about having a outside prosecutor to prosecute the police in question instead of the prosecutor the said police work with daily?pango
    • i dunno. what ideas do you have?
      nada?
      pango
    • "Accidents will happen."
i dunno man. even insurance company will call bs on you if accident happened more than 2 or 3 times.
      pango
    • its like you're not doing anything to prevent the accident.pango
    • Once the "client" is dead, what does it matter who is doing the investigation? The first suggestion is more preventive in nature, I like itdrgs
    • client as the officer or the person he shot?
are you suggesting capital punishment for officer?
      that depends on the states.
      pango
    • Client as the criminal being arrested. About number of complaints -- should probably be adjusted for seniority, its gets complicated...drgs
    • i think you're onto something. if police shot someone dead, case closed!pango
    • "seniority" ya sure those are details.
mind you "clients" can be police officer too.
      pango
    • thought you want them dead.
would have been quite an 180.
      pango
    • you any more ideas?pango
    • More black people working as police? In fact, ethnic makeup of police officers should mirror that of criminalsdrgs
    • Ya I agree. Also mendatory 4 years criminology class. Too many police's lack of knowledge of the law is costing tax payer a lot of money.pango
    • What's with the "we" part? Aren't you in Norway?yuekit
    • I think the solution is gonna be different in every city. USA probably isn't going to pass a police reform law. Different ideas will be tried on a local level.yuekit
