March 24: "I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter. [April 12]" - Donald Trump

Well it's May 21, so 6 weeks later than Trump's ambitious target...

Get ready for Trump to tell us we're "way ahead of schedule" for the next few weeks and indefinitely until re-opening happens. Then when it does happen, he'll tell us how amazing of a job he did and how we're ahead of schedule.

How could people not see this coming when they considered voting for a deadbeat piece of shit real estate developer? He's so transparent.

    • then september comes and the second wave dwarfs the firstimbecile
    • That will be Obama’s faultmonospaced
    • "I would love to..." isn't a promise, target, schedule, or guarantee. I would have loved that none of this happened and nobody died...MondoMorphic
    • Nothing would have happened differently, regardless which lying, raping, warmongering, out of touch old fart we voted for. We didn't have a lot of options.MondoMorphic
    • lol "nothing would have happened differently" is the funniest defense of Trump I've heard yet!!
      ********
    • It's not a defense of Trump. It's a statement on the overall system...and also that NOBODY knew what was comingMondoMorphic
    • 'NOBODY'? What about the previous administration, or the CDC for the past n decades? The specifics of C19 were grey, but not of pandemics generallyNairn
    • Nobody except a handful of countries warning everyone well in advance.

    • ..that too.

it boggles me that anyone could think Trump was somehow blindsided.

    • Our government, the WHO, the World, etc. As of February, the CDC was unimpressed, based on conversations I've had with them.MondoMorphic
    • ooh, you've had meetings with higher ups in the CDC? Gosh we are in illustrious company!Nairn
    • Well I spoke to people at "the World" and they were very impressed, so
      ********
    • What’s going on here? I Was just on the the phone with The U.N. so I missed the all hubbubGnash
    • I meet with the CDC daily, Nairn.MondoMorphic
    • You all are cunts. hahaha
Back to my original point, the liberals need to start looking at things through less biased lenses. Trump didn't make a target.
      MondoMorphic
    • you're delusional. trump defunded and dismantled the departments instituted and used for pandemic response.imbecile
    • also, this administration had the opportunity to purchase ppe from american producers early and took no action.imbecile
    • He also downplayed the virus for THE ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY and did NOTHING. Do you also suffer collective trump memory loss for that month?monospaced
    • While world events were being canceled, and deaths tolls getting scary across Europe, the president joked or lied that it wouldn't even be an issue here.monospaced
    • Any concept that we could prepare, or be smart, or vigilant was downplayed as liberal paranoia by Trump and his cocksuckers. This is partly why he's to blame.monospaced
    • And to this day, his most faithful supporters continue to be skeptical that preparations were necessary. Trump even fueled their freedom to be stupid fires.monospaced
    • So no. I don't think for 1 second that it would have played out the same had we had a more mature, responsible leader at the helm. Trump shit the bed.monospaced
    • The CDC had frequent meetings with the administration in February (and still does). The administration was following the CDC's direction.MondoMorphic
    • ...and for the record, I did not vote for Trump, I don't like Trump, I don't like the current administration, etc.MondoMorphic
