If we rush to reopen we undo all the curve-flattening we did these past 10 weeks. We weren't staying home because it would cure the virus or something, we were staying home to stop overwhelming hospitals. The capacity for those hospitals hasn't changed. This is why the second wave could be even worse, with people lulled into false security thinking the worst was over and we can go back to normal.
- We will eventually go back to normal, because it is what we consider normal. Question is: can we maintain a certain level of precaution until we have a cure?sr_rosa
- who said anything about rushing?SteveJobs
- everyone thinks they can bennnsplain nowimbecile
- There’s a sense of rushing in some places recently. People quick to be out and acting like it’s over.monospaced
- There are states reopening while spiking in new cases. That isn't rushing? Ontario's just levelling out and we're already reopening.i_monk
- ^@mono and sr_rosa: EXACTLY what I was trying to say in my latest post here! With reopenings ppl thinking we're in the clear and they can do "normal" again!********
- Well, in your post you said we should take no risk, and that is just impossible. There is always risk. And force of habit is hard to avoid.sr_rosa
- @sr_rosa Yup, didn't think it will be interpreted that way, need to choose my words better next time I'm writing reminders********
