I really don't get why anyone would be against decentralised, uncensorable sound money.

    • its pure volatility and history... not to mention clones and competition with few whales controlling popularity and pump and dump
      ********
    • in theory it's nice, but really what is the difference between current system. a small few with access to control and manipulate capital?
      ********
    • wouldn't early adopter be like the rothchilds, and companys with capital to mine be the exxons. and it would all rely on heavily gov regulated backbones...
      ********
    • prefer the the non traceability and liquidity of cash still.
      ********
    • No because on the current system, there is also all the manipulation you talked about, and they also control the source, and it's printer. they can take it awayESKEMA
    • from you and as you're about to see, they can fuck it's value into oblivion.ESKEMA
    • sure it's volatile, but thats expected. We're not even close to find BTC true value, it will take years. And it will keep going up, because more and more peopleESKEMA
    • will realise it's a safer than banksESKEMA
    • and clones and competion are fine. We have hundreds of currencies worlwide, no problem there.ESKEMA
    • I am much much much much less worried about my money in the bankdrgs
    • because you don't live in venezuela, argentina, zimbabwe or iran.ESKEMA
    • What is missing the ability to use crypto to actually buy things. Right now it is still just a form of digital gold.yuekit
    • I wish it was more widely adopted, would be great to not have to worry about bank transfers or changing currency when traveling.yuekit
    • Imagine landing in a new country and buying something from a local shop with your phone. No intermediary, that was the original dream right?yuekit
    • it is, but probably years away. Because of it's nature and volatility, I don't advise buying anything with bitcoin at this point. you will regret it laterESKEMA
    • No buyer will spend Bitcoin if it increases in value. No merchant will accept it if it loses value. A currency is useful only if it represents the same value ondrgs
    • Both sides of the transactiondrgs
    • other cryptos will fill that role. Think of it more of an investment.ESKEMA
    • down the line, it will stabilise in value and there'll be more ecosystems built around it, that's when you use it. right now, just accumulateESKEMA
    • Facebook's currency was definitely aimed at that niche, but it looks like it won't be happening now.yuekit
