pirates were all extremely adept swordsman. even if the shark did get a pirate in his mouth, said pirate would slice that shark up on the way down the sharks throat (all the while probably drinking some rum), and thus make the shark easy work for his pirate brothers.
no, pirates are pretty much invicible.
