    Mega Rant.

I feel so frustrated... I don't consider myself a smart one.. in fact I'm quite stupid from time to time, and I usually don't understand "logical" things the same way like others (ie: wife).

Anyways, this pandemic is really testing my nerves, cause I think that aggressive shut-downs, law enforced quarantines, strong government intervention in public economy, decrees protecting the private economy, absolute redirection of the budget towards healthcare (buy hotels, they are closing!, turn them into hospitals)... the list could go on... For me: SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY FUCKING MANDATORY.

It's basic! Needs no genius! It's like playing TEG: You got a threat, close the border. You feel at risk: focus all your efforts till you feel safe.

As I posted above: Uruguay got 135 infected in one week. What would the govt do? Well.. I just heard the economy minister talking about rates, loans, the market, the companies... makes me SICK! We're talking about thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of people dying here... Is the economy SO fucking essential, even if we're facing a life threatening disaster, that governments prefer to sift their actions and measures through the fucking economy sieve? It's incomprehensible. And it is perceived all the time: "work from home: NO". Suddenly ... "work from home: YEI!". Malls: closed. Supermakets, hell no! Quarantine: "Yeah, for the infected". (135 infections) "Wow... maybe we should declare a general quarantine"... Still waiting; meanwhile: hundreds of people spreading the virus out there. Awesome.

    • Money and property are more important than human lives. 100%PhanLo
    • the economy is kind of important to keep the food moving to stores, medicine to hospitals. A total stop means revolution in 2weeks when the food runs out.monNom
    • Around here we already have all those measures. Speed is key - like Facebook, move fast and break things!
      ********
    • I get your rant - but a dire economy could kill many more than a virus. At least if there's not a safety net for the less fortunate and fragile.inteliboy
    • @monNom, I think an actual revolution is what gvmnts are taking their butts out.maquito
    • And I honestly think it is a revolution what might save thousands of lives.maquito
