I do think there's something to the theory that the virus spreads less easily in hot weather.
No other explanation I can think of for why so many countries in Asia...Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia...are reporting just a handful of cases in spite of having big exposure to China.
Also notice there are almost no cases in India. No cases in Africa which is strange...
- But this has not been proven and I haven't seen any evidence that it's killed at 26 degrees or any specific temperatureyuekit
- its plausible... we'll seeBennn
- also aging vs younger population_niko
- So far all clear in 3rd world countries, Mexico, Africa, India. Same population does not have desposible income to travel. It's a rich mans flu.robotron3k
- Maybe the endgame of all this is gonna be thousands of Americans fleeing towards the Mexican border...yuekit
- I should say developing countries, which places in SEA is a part of...robotron3k
- Only to find "the wall" standing in their way. It will be a big dramatic moment like ending of Planet of the Apesyuekit
- yeah travelling is a huge thing in thisBennn
- Many people travel to SEA countries though. Including millions of Chinese. Which makes it a mystery why there was not a bigger outbreak.yuekit
- Chinese are hated in most all of SEA, they are only allowed in certain parts of Vietnam and their tour buses are greeted by rocks in the countryside.robotron3k
- Love hate relationship though, without China the economies of those countries would collapse.yuekit
- There is some truth to this, but many of the coronaviruses that COVID-19 is suspected to have mutated from have demonstrated long latency periods.garbage
- So they're just going to hibernate during the summer, and come back in the fall.garbage
- The total lack of healthcare or resources might have something to do with it. Remember how Malaysia was "investigating" that lost plane?zarkonite
- More likely less reporting in countries with rickety healthcare systems, younger populations and higher mortality rates.monoboy
- < generally. Also, not a peep from Russia. Its cold there.monoboy
- Singapore, Taiwan and HK acted super rapidly too. My sis is in KL. Authorities are on it.monoboy
- robotron, you are one ignorant dumb fuck who has no idea what you're talking about.Khurram
- +1 Khurramgarbage
- I have trouble believing all these governments could cover up hundreds of people dying every day. In China and Italy, hospitals are completelyyuekit
- overwhelmed. That does not appear to be happening in these countries.yuekit
